Piece of a wood log removed from the original Routt County courthouse, located in Hayden, Colorado, 1879. Approximately 27" long. The first Routt County courthouse was built in Hayden in 1877 for $100. The little old cabin never had a floor other than the ground. The county seat, and therefor the courthouse, was relocated in 1879 to the mining boom town of Hahns Peak. A final move occurred in 1912 when a vote to relocate the seat was given to Steamboat Springs.
